Leonardo, Heritage of Our Land
Research into the places around Lake Como, the Adda and the nearby valleys that Leonardo da Vinci knew, studied and drew, which grew into exhibitions, talks and workshops.
Lario, Valtellina, Brianza, Russia

Begun out of passion in 2014, the research became an ongoing study. In 2018 I formed a scientific committee and in 2019, 500 years after Leonardo’s death, it grew into a series of exhibitions, talks, guided tours and educational workshops that travelled as far as Russia.
The project includes some fifty panels in three sections: historical introduction, study of his handwriting, sketches and drawings. In the Codex Atlanticus Leonardo names Como, Lecco, Mandello, Bellagio and other places on the lake, dwelling on the Grigne, Valsassina, Valtellina and Valchiavenna; the Windsor drawings include the “Adda series”, in quill pen, and the “red series”, with the Grigne and the Resegone drawn in red chalk.
In the “Quill pen” workshops, students and visitors try out the tools Leonardo used to write and draw: red chalk and the goose-quill pen.
